Our
philosophy:
In the decades that spanned the deaths of Maria Colwell
and Victoria Climbie, agencies failed to work together
effectively. Such failures have influenced our decision
to establish innovative responses to safeguarding children
and young people, guided by the following principles:
Real “working together”: this is based on our combined
experience of proven effective multi-agency initiatives.
We have developed integrated services organised around
children and young people rather than around professional
boundaries or existing agencies.
Transparency and Accountability: our practice is child-centred
and outcome led, it is transparent whilst maintaining
privacy and dignity for children and young people. We
are openly accountable to children and young people
and to other stakeholders.
Promoting opportunity: we are achieving this through
accredited peer education and subsequent volunteering
and employment opportunities for young people and through
our commitment to staff training (three of our five
full time staff are currently on extended training to
gain qualifications).
